Circadian Control of the Cell Cycle

Detecting Deterministic Chaos in the Cell Cycle

The Cousin-Mother Inequality detects deterministic non linear processes leading to variability in lineages of cells (PRX 2018)

Why are cells dividing with different cell-cycle times? Noise?

Actually, a determinstic non linear control of the circadian clock generates variability in Cyanobacteria. Deleting the clock genes decreases the variability.

This work extends presents a more detailed mathematical model, and extension to different cell types (E.coli, Corynebacterium, Cyanobacteria) of our previous work distinguishing between noise and determinism in the cell-cycle of lymphocytes.
